Last weekend I had a quick visit to Kaiserslautern where I went to University some decades ago. The people in that area are passionate about their soccer club 1.FCK. Above you see an installment called Elf Freunde. It is eleven concrete sculptures of soccer players and – very prominent in the image – a concrete ball. The term Elf Freunde or Eleven Friends goes back to the title of a novel by Sammy Drechsel: Elf Freunde müsst Ihr sein (Click!)
