We went on a trip through France for our vacation. Bruges you might ask. Yes it is in Belgium, but that was the city we started. We went there via Düsseldorf where we picked up our daughter on Friday evening and watched the movie “In Bruges” (Click!) to get a bit of acclimation for your stay in Bruges. The movie is actually one of the very few movies where I like the title of the German synchronization more which is “Brügge sehen … und sterben” which translates into something like: “See Bruges … and die”.
The next morning we drove up to Bruges and stayed there for two nights before we headed off to France (without our daughter who had to go back).
This and the following posts will just show some images from our trip and I also will date them back to the date of the photographs – as if I had posted them from our trip. I just took my little Fuji X100F with me (and the wide angle converter). And I also had my phone equipped with the Hipstamatic app.
So Bruges … what a nice town, it feels like walking through a museum town. And unfortunately many people felt the same and so the town was crowded – maybe not as much as in the summer months, but there were quite some people. And I do not want to complain, we have been tourists there too. Here are just some impressions from our first afternoon. They might not be the usual views of the town. But I am a bad travel photographer.
